When I was at the clinic for depression, we discovered a few other things that were wrong with me. You know, the usual, hernias and lesions on my brain. Gah! It was scary trying to deal with all the emotional stuff and these new physical things but I think I managed to keep myself sane. A few people helped along the way. I could never have done it alone. (Thanks Blahpolar and fam). I was diagnosed having an umbilical hernia observed while doing a sit up in the gym. It put me off exercising- that’s how embarrassing and awfully uncomfortable it was.
Source: An umbilical hernia in adults usually occurs when too much pressure is put on a weak section of the stomach muscles, due to factors including:
- being overweight
- frequent pregnancies
- multiple gestation pregnancies (having twins, triplets, etc.)
- fluid in the abdominal cavity
- stomach surgery
- having a persistent, heavy cough
I tick a few of those boxes, lol, especially the frequent pregnancies bit.
Anyway, I’m off to surgery to have it fixed. I’ll have more on the brain lesions when I get a chance.
Life is a precious thing.

Will be thinking of you, ear Y!
I have a friend here named Star who’s going in for the same procedure on Monday!
I’m very proud of both of you for taking care of yourselves and getting this done.

The tears are rolling down my cheeks. It was s huge decision to do this, to self love, to take responsibility. So thank you for seeing that as it is and supporting us. I was sore today… My super wOman powers disappeared for a bit but I have pills and it’s a lot less worse than a c section ….
Xoxoxo good luck to your friend if she’s doing the umbilical hernia. It isn’t too bad.
Love you darling. Off to dreamland

Yve, I am so proud of you! This is a major step and it takes courage to look after yourself like this. I, too, have a hernia (caused during a very botched up gallbladder removal which also damaged my liver) and I know I need it taken care of but am really hesitant about more surgeries. I will be thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery. Sending lots of love and hugs. Lydia!

Thanks Lydia! You would know it’s a huge step. I didn’t realize that doing this was such a big thing till I came out of surgery. Yes, my therapist went on and on how this is an example of self love but I only felt the physical symptoms and relief post surgery. Only then I knew, oh this is what loving your body is about.
Sorry to hear about your hernia and I can totally understand your hesitation.
I’ll pray that no complications occur while you decide what your next step will be.
Thanks for all the support, love and hugs. Sending tons your way!
