Brain fog

I have this fog in my head. It’s clouding my judgement and clouding me. I can’t blog or think or feel, so I sleep and eat and …

On a serious note, I do have a case of some brain fog. I noticed over the past few days that I’ve been struggling to focus. I’d have several word docs open and I’d be working on all documents simultaneously. Blogs, memoir, how-to’s : all of them worked on bit by bit. But today a certain type of cloudiness set in and my soul can see nothing past the overcast weather. I’m in bed trying to pencil notes to several posts I want to post. But this is tough, stringing sentences together is really not working. Words don’t come easily and logic seems have taken a trip somewhere far from here.  It’s like I’m drunk from what I don’t know. Stumbling over words and commas and bumping into apostrophes and sense itself. Ugh.

On a side note.

I’m really trying blog everyday (read: often) either because firstly I’m trying not to be too impulsive (that got me into trouble back in my manic days) and sometimes I feel that Facebook is there for that. What do you think? Should I be posting everyday?

Maybe tomorrow there will be sunshine.

Keeping hope alive.

Yve

Some people are perfectionists when it comes to their blog and absolutely won’t post anything that isn’t brilliant in some way. I write everyday, for the most part, because it’s like eating and sleeping and breathing – I am compelled to write.
I write even when the fog is there and my words seem juvenile or too simple. I do it anyway.
I’d say write when you feel compelled to write. If every day is unrealistic, be gentle. Do what you can xx

Thanks La Sabrosona. I’m looking to write through the foggy days but when it’s not so bad. I agree with you in that there are perfectionists but I also think that maybe there are those that are trying to create and protect the brand that they portray on there sites. Maybe with increased posts they stand the risk of distorting the image. I don’t know. I think it depends on the content of the blog. I suppose my site would be easy to post every day. My site is a mash up of rants and advocacy all in one. Served with ice cream. Mint chocolate chip.

But I’ll be gentle. Thanks again dear. Xxx

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream! My blog has been a bit of an experiment and therefore I’m not as clear on a brand per se in terms of content. You’ve got me thinking now…and also I wanted to say that with humour almost all is forgiven even if there’s brain fog :))

Been feeling brain fog myself… the kind of thing that a daily walk and fish oil supplements would generally disperse… but not quite so currently. Thanks for following me recently! I never know where to post thank yous!

Hello Pola! Which fish oil supplements do you use? Maybe I should try some. I should get out of the house more to walk too- think you’re on the right track. I think I’m going to ask my psychiatrist to change my dosage of my tablets. I sleep half the day away which doesn’t help anyone. You run a great blog so happy to follow. I’ll check out what else you get up to 😉

Well then I better behave myself! 😉 I use Forever Living’s ‘Forever Arctic Sea’ fish oil. It’s a U.S. based company with kind of a similar rep system to Avon? Available in a lot of countries. It has three oils in it, one of which is Omega 3 from Arctic Sea fish. That sea has the lowest level of mercury in the world – they don’t kill the fish to extract it either which I feel is kinder. Thanks so much for your faith in my blog!

Yve, I often feel this way too. My bipolar has progressed over the last 2 years. I often feel confused and it’s so uncomfortable. I constantly have to ask people to slow down and repeat things. Sometimes I too have trouble finding words. I feel like I have an elderly brain. My memory is poor. I have heard fish oil and b vitamins help, which I am taking again. I also get b12 shots, when I remember bc my physical showed I had low b12. Sometimes sleep will make my brain fog go away. Thanks for folliw☺

Hi tracihalpin, ahhh glad to know there’s someone who understands how I feel. I feel like this fog always comes at the worst of times- when I have deadlines or a lot of pressure on me to do something. Suddenly my high functioning self fogs off and I’m left with half a brain. (Not the good half). I heard it isn’t good to get too many of those shots but I can’t remember why. Blame the fog.

Thanks for commenting 🙂 hope to interact soon again!

Yve, you’re such an inspiration to me. Im often so comforted that we go through the same thing . I had brain fog/memory problems with Neurontin. When my Dr lowered the dose of became a bit better. Please hang in there and take good care of you!

Wow, thank you Kiki. I’m humbled by your comment. I have just changed psychiatrists and she opted to keep me on this dose for at least two sessions so that we could make sure I’m stable for telling her about my WHOLE history. Then we’re going to play around with meds, and I’ll request we bring it down a bit. I could do so much more if I was more awake and alert you know?

Thank you for the kindest of words. You take care too.

      Looking forward to interacting again.

Hi. I suffered from brain fog for a number of years and have managed to recover almost completely from it after changing my diet significantly. I learned to listen to my body and adjust accordingly. For me, it was all about digestion. I’ve started a blog to share my journey and what I learned. I’m really keen to help others through this debilitating ailment using my experience. Anyway, please have a look through my first few posts if you’re interested. I think my latest post is the most interesting, the ones with the photos. Cheers, Paul
