Flashback Post

My last post touched on me growing up to being a sensitive soul. I remember listening to songs and just crying because I could relate so much to what was said in the lyrics.

Here’s one example of a song that choked  me up every time (still does).

It’s sung by Julio Iglesias and features Sting. It was released in 1994 (I was 8) and the song stuck me with since then. The song was originally released by Sting in 1988. I prefer Julio’s version though.

Here are the lyrics:

If blood will flow, when flesh and steel are one

Drying in the color, of the evening sun

Tomorrow’s rain, will wash the stains away

But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant to clinch a lifetime’s argument

That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could

For all those born beneath an angry star

Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star, like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

“How fragile we are, how fragile we are”
On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star, like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

“How fragile we are, how fragile we are”
If blood will flow, when flesh and steel are one

Drying in the color, of the evening sun

Tomorrow’s rain, will wash the stains away

But something in our minds will always stay
On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star, like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

“How fragile we are, how fragile we are”
On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star, like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

“How fragile we are, how fragile we are”
On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star, like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

“How fragile we are, how fragile we are”

I think it’s amazing how at such a young age I could understand and feel how fragile we are as beings.

There’s the YouTube video link. Keep the tissues nearby!

I LOOOOVE this song; I’m only familar with the Sting version! The beginning of it in particular always soothed me, and it’s such a beautiful song with a profound message. I’ll listen to this version w/Julio tomorrow – must go to sleep as I only got 2-3 hrs last night. 😦 I’m back on Seroquel tonight, which sucks but I must get more sleep even if it’s Seroquel-ized!

Love you and thank you so much for sharing your experience in connecting with this song; you’re truly remarkable, and I love the fact you’re sensitive! XOXOX
